 Lithograph in colours on Arches watermarked paper, circa 1957, signed by the artist in red crayon, The reverse contains the following printed inscription from an additional plate: ‘Venus et l’amour voluer de miel, collection Lehman, le 12.6.57, fait. 13.6.57, Cranach l’Ancien.’ This text was printed in script on a second plate to reflect the original paintings provenance association in the Lehman collection.

Note:  This was made by Picasso as a homage to Lucas Cranach the younger (1515-1586), who created Vénus et l’amour voleur de miel in 1509. The work is presently hanging in the Hermitage Museum, St Petersburg.
