Note: Sonia Delaunay was a pioneer in the abstract art, deeply influenced by the laws of ‘simultaneous contrasts’. Purely abstract, her work is nevertheless lyrical and harmonious. Brightly coloured arabesques, concentric circles, triangles, and rectangles composed her paintings and prints. Delaunay wanted to symbolise modernity as well as the experiences of simultaneity that urban life provides.
This item is from a portfolio of 15 Pochoirs, in colours. Rimbaud was a French poet who is known for his influence on modern literature and arts which pre-figured surrealism.
