Note: Picasso made a number of large Lithographs in 1954 all printed by Mourlot Freres. This example shows a cloaked figure similar to La Celestine who was to appear later in numerous examples of the 347 series. At this time the artist was heavily involved in the Peace Movement and his invention of the “Dove of Peace” as a symbol of this political initiative became viral. It is shown here in this lithograph obliquely referring to the artists politics of the day. One of the women in this lithograph holds a Dove of Peace.
