Note: In 1962 Picasso made very many prints one of which was a famous linocut depicting his wife, Jacqueline. This is recorded in the Catalogue Raisonne as Bloch 1072, Baer 1318. After the death of the artist this was made into a Limited Edition rug under license from the succession Picasso and it was manufactured by Desso in the Netherlands. Although the edition is quite large we have never seen another example of this item fro sale which makes us believe that not so many were actually created. It is, in fact, a rare and lovely item.
Published by: SPADEM (Sociètè de la Propriètè Artistique et des Dessins et Modeles), an international organization formed to collect royalties on reproduction of artists' images and to police improper use of these images. All the heirs, except Marina Picasso, who recently changed her mind, have designated SPADEM their agent in these matters.
Manufactured by: Desso, The Netherlands, under license from the Succession Picasso in 1994. Desso is a prominent manufacturer of Fine Carpets.
