Note: This is a portrait of Peter Langan, famed British restaurateur and art collector who owned Odin's restaurant in London. Odin's, which is no longer open, was a popular meeting place for celebrities and artists such as David Hockney, who were known to exchange artwork for meals. Hockney completed various illustrations surrounding Odin's - some for menus - and this etching was the prototype for one menu cover. In addition to Odin's, Langan and actor Michael Caine opened the successful Langan's Brasserie in the Mayfair district of London.
