£ 0.00

Original glass vase sculpture, light blue, dark blue, red, green and yellow glass, signed by the artist with incised signature on the base. Also on the base the inscription reads “Ommaggio a Miro”

Size: Height 390 mms x width 190 mms; weight 7650 grams

Note 1: This work is in the form of a glass circular vase with a facial expression and solid base.

Furlan was born near Venice and at an early age went to work in the VAMSA glassworks where he learned the technique of sculpting glass “a masello” which infuses colour into pure crystal giving it brightness, vibrant colour and power. Whilst still a young man Furlan met Picasso and later, in 1963, Picasso attended his show at the Murano glass exhibition. In the fullness of time Furlan also got to meet other Schools of Paris artists such as Joan Miro and made works, such as this present example, in hommage to him. Furlan’s work is represented in numerous Italian art museums.

Edition: Unnumbered. Furlan’s works were always made from very small editions and we believe few pieces exist similar to this.
